High Spatial and Temporal Resolution Myocardial Tagging in a free- breathing exam using multi-echo SSFP and PAGE

چکیده
INTRODUCTION: Magnetization tagging [1, 2] has been used to study regional myocardial motion. The development of high temporal and spatial resolution tagging imaging methods may permit the evaluation of regional activation and relaxation patterns in early systolic and diastolic phases. In this abstract, we present an approach to obtain high temporal and spatial resolution myocardial tagging data under free-breathing conditions. We also introduce a dual tagging approach in order to have high tag contrast in both early systolic and diastolic phases.

Improved T2-Weighted Cardiac Imaging using Retrospective Motion Correction and Optimal Image Combination
Introduction T2-weighted (T2w) cardiac MR imaging has established reputation as a sensitive technique to depict myocardial edema related to acute infarction. Together with delayed enhancement technique, T2w demonstrated valuable clinical potentials to differentiate acute damage from chronic infarction [1]. To minimize the myocardial signal loss caused by through-plane motion, T2w can be perform...

Alter Breath-hold duration Increasing parallel-imaging factors (up to x 4 routinely) will reduce breath-hold with minimal impact on SSFP quality. Reduce spatial resolution small reductions in phase resolution will significantly reduce breath-hold Increasing the echo train/segments shorten breathhold, with slight decrease in temporal resolution Increase the number of averages(3-5) for free-breat...
متن کاملMyocardial first pass perfusion: steady-state free precession versus spoiled gradient echo and segmented echo planar imaging.
The imaging sequences used in first pass (FP) perfusion to date have important limitations in contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR), temporal and spatial resolution, and myocardial coverage. As a result, controversy exists about optimal imaging strategies for FP myocardial perfusion. Since imaging performance varies from subject to subject, it is difficult to form conclusions without direct comparison ...
متن کاملFree-breathing myocardial T1 mapping using magnetization-prepared slice interleaved spoiled gradient echo imaging
Background Quantitative myocardial T1 mapping and extracellular volume fraction (ECV) show promise for non-invasive assessment of cardiomyopathies. Most available T1 mapping sequences use a single slice breath-hold acquisition with balanced steady state free precession (b-SSFP) readout [1]. However, b-SSFP readout is sensitive to B0 field inhomogeneity and is potentially T2 dependent [1]. In th...
متن کاملMultishot EPI-SSFP in the heart.
Refocused steady-state free precession (SSFP), or fast imaging with steady precession (FISP or TrueFISP), has recently proven valuable for cardiac imaging because of its high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and excellent blood-myocardium contrast. In this study, various implementations of multiecho SSFP or EPI-SSFP for imaging in the heart are presented. EPI-SSFP has higher scan-time efficiency tha...
